North Bucks rRIPPLE (ramblers Repairing & Improving Public Paths for Leisure & Exercise) was founded in early 2015 and has ten active volunteers to call upon. A team goes out around three times a month to get some fresh air and exercise, to improve the path network of North Bucks, and finally to recuperate in a local hostelry before heading home. Initially stiles were repaired and improved, but we and Buckinghamshire Council prefer to see stiles replaced with metal gates or kissing gates. The Donate a Gate (DaG) scheme has paid many thousands of pounds to Buckinghamshire Council towards the purchase of gates. The scheme is extremely successful with numerous parishes now realising that there is actually someone else out there, other than the local authority, with whom they can deal and get things done. Details of every one of our gate installations, over 300, including before and after photos, are to be found in our quarterly activity reports on this webpage.  An example is shown below.
