Our Area monitors developments affecting the enjoyment of walking within our territory. In particular we monitor the state of our paths and seek to get any problems put right. Southern Buckinghamshire includes a major part of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty while the northern part of the county and, indeed, our London Boroughs and Milton Keynes also include attractive countryside, making our Area a great one for walking.

We also do what we can to reduce or prevent the impact on walkers, of developments which would lessen enjoyment of our countryside, not least of which at present is the London to Birmingham high speed rail line which cuts right through our territory. Photo: Mike Lambourne
	We help to keep and improve path access to the countryside through our annual path check and our active team of volunteers replacing stiles by gates in northern Buckinghamshire.  We do this with the support of Buckinghamshire Council, and the work is partly funded by donations. Our executive committee is elected annually from the membership of groups in our area. Additionally, each group can send two representative to committee meetings.  Committee meetings are held three times a year and our AGM is usually held in February.  Our area sends two representatives to General Council meetings.
